I am going to meet them Saturday at around 10am to clear leaves and general trail cleanup. We plan on working on Tall Oaks. Anyone that wants to help can meet us in the parking lot next to the shelter houses. I wont have the work trailer, but will grab leaf blowers and rakes. We are not done yet as we need to put some polish on some areas, but man have we came along ways. It just goes to show what can happen when you put a bunch of hard working individuals together for a cause. We cut out several downed trees and trimmed the trail wide enough that there is long site lines. Another good work day and we can get the other half of the Tall Oaks completed.

I'm off work this Friday July 3rd and planning starting some much needed TLC on the Tall Oaks and River Forks trails. I was on the South Thompson last night and it is still very wet and tore up. The majority of the work need on Tall Oaks is cutting, trimming, and a whole lot of dirt work / bridge work. The trailer is up here and the forecast is suppose to be quite cooler. Just give me a shout if interested!!!

We also removed some other trees on the Tall oaks and campground connector. I purchased gas and put it in the trailer. I have both chainsaws as I plan to get them both sharpened and one of them tuned. It's time to step up and get some volunteer work completed. If you'd like to volunteer to trim a section, speak up. There was 18 volunteers and we got a good start in getting the trails ready for some spring riding and the Crank-N-Cruise. Currently, the Tall Oaks, Connectors, and "Short Thompson" are cleared of trees and debris. There are some active "weeps" and wet areas in the bottoms that may need to be avoided (walked around). If we are blowing leaves at Crowder this year, I think we could schedule something anytime. It looks like 95% of the trees are bare, so the trails are about as leafy as they're going to get.

The dept of conservation is offering a management hunt in the park on these dates to help regulate and control the deer population. 100 hunters were selected in a lottery style selection for this hunt. I just wanted to spread the word so that no body would be surprised or in harms way.
