Lenexa, Kansas, September 15, 2008 – De Stad Cyclocross Van Kansas Series announces the launch of the 2008/2009 Cyclo-cross season with a fundraising race to benefit Diamond Blackfan Anemia. The race will be the first of its kind held in Lenexa, KS.
Cyclo-cross is a growing sport in the Kansas City Metro and is home to some of the best cyclo-cross racing events in the nation, including the National Championship race.
De Stad Cyclocross Van Kansas Series, along with their partners and sponsors invite you to attend the first race of the season, Sunday, September 28th at Sar-Ko-Par Park, Lenexa, KS. Events will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 pm. The Elite class racers will compete at 1:30 pm. This fun-filled, action packed cycling race will benefit the Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation in honor of 4 year-old Lenexa resident, Amelia Lamb.
The race is free to attend with portions of race entry fees, concessions and raffles being donated to the Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation.

De Stad Cyclocross Van Kansas Series race promoters will host 6 cyclo-cross races in the 2008/2009 season.
ABOUT DBA - Diamond Blackfan Anemia is a very rare blood disorder that affects 700 people worldwide. Unlike most diseases, Diamond Blackfan Anemia is so rare that it receives only limited government funding. It is up to the families of it's victims to raise funds to find better treatments and cures. All donations go straight to medical research.
