I think this belongs in the group ride section. Thank you Brent for letting my wife and me borrow your Tandem. We put 8.5 miles (about 40 minutes) on it tonight along CC hwy.
I may not yet have made a convert, but I think Dana was a whole lot less afraid of doing it again when we called it done.
Oh, then she had to hop in the car and retrace the ride to see how far she had gone.

This is working towards our spending a couple days riding the Katy Trail down by Columbia in a couple weeks. I needed/wanted to let her get her toes wet before then. Not really going to put very many miles in, but my first vacation doing something I enjoy, with the one I love.

Where ya been? Glad to see you posting and your getting it figured out. Get the wife involved in cycling and there will be more cycling destinations in the vacation plan!

Seems like all i get in is work, except for some evenings. Last week was a definite exception, finally said enough and took two whole days to ride the KATY trail. went from Columbia to Rocheport (not very far, but Dana is a very new rider) and had a great time. Rented a Yakoda tandem in Columbia. Then went back late last night and BOUGHT a Fuji tandem from a Craigslist seller!

See how addictive riding can be? Going to pick up Kayla my youngest from school today, windy or not on the bike.

On a seperate note, Dana had a good time too. Held up and enjoyed herself til about the last four miles, when her sit bones got too sore. A bit of walking and some picnic benches and we were back to town.

The weather even cooperated. Tuesday was overcast and cool, but it did not rain and Wednesday was cool and sunny. I even managed to get pinked at the cycling shorts line!

I hope to get Dana comfortable enought that by the end of the summer we might do a Monday nighter on the Tandem.
