When I started this whole biking thing my heart was set on the mountain biking and not much road. Monday night when I was bringing up the tail of the pack my mind started wandering!!!! Watching the large group way up in front of me dicing and slicing for position, some pulling and some drafting....waiting for the perfect moment to slingshot into the front. Looked like alot of fun, but my legs wouldnt let me join in. My ego didnt like it much, but mental toughness can only take you so far.
In memory of that Monday night ride, this morning I purchased a used Giant OCR1 bike that I will finish out the riding season on and look into something different for next year. My heart is still saying mountain bike but this seems like a good training tool for mountain biking. So in summary.....my goal by the end of this year is to be able to hang at the front and do some pulling!!! Any bets????

I just heard a big chomp, like the sound made when someone has been bitten hard! Warning, this sport can become addictive.

When you start visiting the other cyclists in the group and notice that their garages are full of bicycles of all different flavors:
Mountain, Road, Cross, Single Speed, Fixie, hard tail, full suspension, trials, all mountain, downhill, etc..... opps forgot unicycle!

I love it when people ask me how I stay so slim. I go out and play everyday.

Dawg-Hang in there and you'll be up front mixing it up before the riding season is over! BTW-There is some physics involved in this and you'll find that as the 1bs. start dropping, the climbing gets easier. It's just liike wrestling: "Suffer, suffer: tougher, tougher!" or "If those legs aren't burning, get those cranks a turning!"

Thing is, we haven't even cranked it up yet. Wait tilll we want to start drawing blood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
