I rode from #17 south to the CGL and back up today. I threw lots of debris and downed trees off the trail.

There is a tree that is blocking the trail on the steep downhill between the dam and CR510 trailhead. The tree is located in a spot where a rider will be coming down fast and turning a corner. Could be a real bad deal! There is also a widow maker hanging in a tree in the same location. If I get a chance, I'll try to get out with a chainsaw and take care of the tree before someone gets a surprise.

The trail is covered with leaves and will take a little more effort to ride. The positive is that you get to work on your handling skills. Dog Hill is pretty tough to clean right now. Everything else is in good shape and the fall weather is perfect for riding.

Be aware that there are bird hunters up in the open fields. This is not a problem if you are staying on the sections of the trail in the timber.

That tree is now removed, it took me awhile but I was able to break it up in pieces and get it off the trail. I had to get way out on the end of it and push and push and push until about 5 ft broke off and then did it again until another 5 or 6 ft broke off and then I had the base loose enough that I could push the remainder the other direction to get it off the trail. It was a tough job, the tree actually threw me onto the ground at one point......I jumped up and made sure no one was hiking up the trail, didn't want to look like a dork or anything (What do you mean too late?).
