The walk through went very well and we had a perfect day.
Phil Sneed, our land manager at Poosey, "wears a lot of hats" as he has to work with so many special interests and also work within his management plan for the area. Phil has been wonderful to work with and knows that the GHTA has continued to maintain all our trails and take ownership. That makes it easier to seek permisision to add trails as our reputation preceeds us.
Phil felt the corridor would help fulfill one of the conservations new goals of connecting campgrounds with trail corridor. That said, he will seek approval from the regional office and let me know what he finds out.
If we get the word to go, I talked to Phil about looking at a calendar and planning at least two large organized work weekends that I can publicize and host crews for those weekends at the educational center off 510. They would be Sat-Sun. work days and we would include social activites and rides into the weekend.
This is just the start to more great things at Indian Creek.
Right now, we need to maintain what we have. This time of year always means corridor to clear of trees and debris and work on water crossings, reroutes, etc....
If we get permission to expand, I'll be contacting everyone!
