PostSubject: justifying bike purchases...   Wed Dec 01, 2010 7:19 pm

I just read Mitch's blog and was reminded of a post I meant to write a few weeks ago. I was riding Indian Creek and lamenting the good old days of my NRS. (Mainly though I was grinning like a dog with its head out the window -- albeit an "old" wheezy dog.) I've had the idea a few times to pay myself mtn bike milage. My "question for the board" is: What's a fair reimbusement rate for saddle time? Also, is it better to think in terms of miles or time spent on the bike? "If the board will consider one more question..." Am I better served to pay myself a wage for trail maintanence hours, or are maintanence hours their own sweet reward? All for now. Happy Trails & Happy Holidays.

I like the last reason. Trails that have a personal signature always put a smile on my face. I hiked from the campground north on the east side of the lake and had a big grin on my face the whole time.

The contours and rugged terrain is so off the wall. This will be an Epic trail when it is completed.

Using your logic of rewarding myself for hours and miles building trail, when I get finished with that project, I'll have a garage full of bikes. Oh wait, I already do have a garage full of bikes! Laughing
