Is the campground loop still being kept open during the rifle seasons? I was planning to make the trip out Wed for some single speed suffering.

The campground loop is in very good shape trail wise along with the whole Indian Creek trail system. BUT....their is always a but.....im guessing with the snow over the weekend and 45 deg temps that its goin to be wet. I will try and run out tomorrow and check it out for you before you drive over. Doug more than likely was out there today so he may have a report before I get one back to you.

I guess I misread you original post. Yes, the Campground loop is open during deer season. We try to be respectful to the hunters and if anyone is the campground ask them where they will be. Even though the campground loop is in a no hunting zone, I try to ride it during the "off hours" of prime hunting. No early morning rides or late afternoon rides. Just my opinion.

Yahoo weather shows the low in the mid-20s for tomorrow and warming up into the mid-30s. I'm thinking 10ish for a start time, and if things are soft to just head back up to Crowder for a hike. If you think it's bound to be too warm by then, don't think twice about telling me to take a rain check. The last thing I want to do is damage even an inch of your sweet, sweet (did I mention sweet) singletrack.
Happy Trails

I hope you are able to ride tomorrow. Believe me when I say that section of trail is perfect for a single speed!!!

So it's almost 8:30. I've got to stop for gas and make a quick run to Walmart and I'll be on the road. True to form, 10ish has become 10:30ish. Maybe I'll see some of you out there. Happy Trails.

My clock turned to 10:30 as I was turning off of W onto A. Is it just me or does that half blind collie have some wheels? Trail conditions were postcard perfect. I'm pretty sure they'd have still been bone dry if it were 10 or 20 degrees warmer.

I only got in three laps before hitting the wall. My computer was reading zero from the campground connector up to the road crossing so I only got lap splits for two of them -- slow but a good marker for progress -- 10:23 & 10:36. I took a breather back at the car, added some air to my tires as the front kept wanting to fold over on me when cornering hard, and took off back down the trail hoping to get in a couple more laps. I soon realized I was cooked for the day. Still, it was a good day -- my second time out where I wasn't caught up in debate whether I should slap those gears back on cyclops

Happy Trails

I did a little number crunching when I got back home to get a ballpark third lap split -- 14:15. Yikes!!!
