Next Sunday (Oct. 21st) is the 2nd annual F*L*A*T*S (Forrest Lakes Area Trail System) Trail Half Marathon.

I have to admit that I have given some serious thought to trail running. I used to be a pretty serious runner before I became a pretty serious rider. Do you see a pattern here? At any rate, I haven't did any serious running for at least 5 years but it's just a matter of getting started easy and working up the mileage like everything else. My cardio system is trained. I just need to rebuild the running muscles and deal with the initial phase of soreness.

Next year's date is set for Oct 5th.

I'm going on record to say that I will be ready to run it in 2013, and be ready to toe the line for the BT Epic too.

Two months into what might have been a year of training to get ready for the F*L*A*T*S 1/2 2013 and I haven't been out for even one run yet...

Maybe I need to make a beer rule to give me some incentive: All beers must be post run beers?? Only hr+ runs count?? drunken scratch drunken

Jeff,
I love the enthusiasm, now you are going to have to follow up on this "self challenge!"

I think you'll find out that when you put an event on the calendar, the time seems to speed up and the event creeps right up on you. Just pick one out and go for it! What is the worse that could happen?
