I'm starting to throw in at least one GG a week as part of my cross workout. Yesterday, I headed out and did a loop. I knew I had to stay out of the aggie bottoms and any of the low-dirt roads next to the river as they were still wet from the weekend rains.
I headed out 190 to Y and then took the first gravel road east 516 to 512. At that point I thought maybe my legs were toast from the indoor training session on Monday. I had my ipod cranked up and didn't realize that my rear brake was up against the rim. Things got must easier after I got the brakes centered. I stayed on 512 to the junction of 510 and decided to ride over and intersect Y again instead of dropping down to the bottoms and riding to Punkin center. I'm sure that route was muddy.
Y to W to A to 515. I road south on 515 all way back down and across 190, kept going south till the intersection of 526. 528 east to 525, 525 north to 190 and home.
24 miles-Gravel was in primo shape. No big gravel and nice bare tracks to keep the speed up.
Great time for gravel. Go get some.
