For anyone that does not know, the Chillicothe Hy-Vee has hired a Dietician, her name is Molly Gilmore and she offers free consultations. Now that I have slimmed down much closer to my prefered weight, my goals and training have changed, and after meeting with her I have a better understanding of what to eat to train at my best so I can perform at my best.

When I went to speak with her I was trying to find out information about how to prepare for the Lumberjack 100 but I soon found a wealth of information that will help me for my training as well as racing. I know a lot of you already know what works best for you and your training needs but if there is anyone out there that might need some guidance this is a free service offered. I would suggest calling the store (646-3638) to see what days she is in and to set up a time to visit with her. My wife visited with her yesterday and found the information very helpful as well. Molly loaned us a book and suggested certain chapters that pertained to our needs and what I have read so far has been an eyeopener for me.

Sorry Mark, I still haven't found the section on Bacon Loading.

Oh, it's there. It's a little known secret that the key to any great athlete's success is bacon loading just before an event.

It also doesn't hurt to bacon load during the off season, so you don't shock your system during training.

wait... we are talking about the dietician that weighs 400lbs, aren't we?

John Stamstead, the "father" of solo 24 hour racing. used to fuel up on spam and oatmeal cakes. Aren't spam and bacon cousins?
