Just got some info from How down there in North Arkansas. This was in repsonse to some questions some had about length and how much time to finish:
Discussion and agreement to change the course of the Ozark Headwaters Challenge Saturday January 26th start location to Foggy Rock Farm (35°51'10.46'' N 93°30'18.02''W) in the Buffalo Headwaters. Note Red Star is NOT the starting location. This new start location will allow half-Challenge riders to ride a loop and not require shuttling. It also makes shuttling vehicles simpler for those completing the entire Challenge, and most importantly avoids all creek crossings in the first half of the Challenge. Following the midway rest stop at Foggy Rock Farm, riders will have to cross the Buffalo River and climb out of the watershed. Then a highway jaunt for about 3 miles and a dirt road into the Big Piney Headwaters. The Challenge finishes on singletrack trails in the Piney. Riders must be ready to start at 9AM SHARP! All the daylight hours may be necessary to complete the ride. Call Ira White at 479 263 0600 or How Kuff at 870 861 5613 or email howkuff@yahoo.com for more details.
Also:
Doug... it has been running between 30 and 40 miles.... with lots of challenging and difficult trails. This includes about 5 miles of dirt roads and 3 miles of highway. No secret just tough! You will like it.
How
Right now there is 9 of us from Chillicothe and KC area. We're looking at Cabins that will sleep large groups so we can spend less money.

Good times indeed. Great to ride with you James, sorry to get you lost with me but I knew we needed the extra miles, the Challenge was not long enough Shocked

Brent, hope the kids let you watch your movie sometime and Mom does not take it away.

I will be up next weekend for the gravel road, unless the snow gets too deep, see ya then.
