Tires???

Margie took off on her first solo ride tonight....I was at home loaded up on vicadin after having wisdom tooth pulled today....when I get a call that she was having some bad luck and needed me to come pick her up. Blew the sidewall and tube right out!!!! I knew when I got the bike I was gonna need some tires because these were old and bit dry cracked.
What kind of tires you guys recommend. It has 700-25 Michelen Dynamics on it.....I dont want to break the bank here, but want a decent set of rubber on it!!!

I don't remember what was on my roade bike when I bought it but I only got about 1200 miles on them before the sidewall began to bulge. I have Hutchinson Quartz on it right now and easily have over 3000 miles on them maybe closer to 4000 and they seem to be in good shape. If they go out I will look for something inexpensive again.

There was nothing special I was looking for in a road tire, I looked at what was on sale and read some reviews before I purchased. In my opinion it is not nearly as important for road tires (your riding all paved) as it is for MTB tires where there are so many different trail types to ride. Obviously there are some that are much better than others but I would rather spend my extra money on the mountain bike side of things.

Just dropped a new set of Continental Gatorskins on the bike. Hope they work well.
