I took the dogs over to the new dam section to check it out and look for a file that I had left by the new trail. I knew the weather forecast so I decided to take a ride before the cold front moved in.

The section from #17 going south, that we had the crit on, is much the better for our effort and is as fun as ever curving in and out of the turns.

Thank You IMBA for teaching us why we build fun-flowy trail that is sustainable.

The leaves are pretty much off the trees and it's the time of the year to practice your bike handling skills as you skid around in the leaves. I was running the Specialized Roll X on the back and this tire seems to hook up in all the lose stuff. I made all the climbs, including "Dog Hill" via a granny gear.

There is some small debris down from all the wind but only one large tree at the base of "slingshot". Be prepared for this tree if you are leaving the south end coming up toward the top. Coming from the north you can see it at the bottom of the downhill. Coming from the south, the tree is hidden behind a corner and you will be entering this turn at high speed, so beware.

The new by-pass is fast and flowy-both directions. I was climbing it as fast as I descended it. It did take a little distance off the old trail but you don't have to ride the fall line climb anymore.

I'm slowly working down the trail and doing maintenance work as needed. I still have lots of work to do, especially on some of the creek crossings. Weather permitting, I'll get back out there before the rifle season starts and then take a break till January.

How about a holler if you'd like to jump in and help!
